The Week of the Wild Women ~ Part I

‘There is in every true woman’s heart, a spark of heavenly fire, which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity, but which kindles up and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity.’ Washington Irving

These women all work in Kampot. The last is the woman who comes to our place to collect cans for recycling. Because of the large amount of people killed during the years of war when you see an elder here it really makes you think. I look at these women who have known horrors that I read of in books like ‘The Daughters of the Killing Fields’ by Theary Seng and I am in awe. At their strength. Determination. And beauty.
